Vans Snowboard Boots

Several innovative projects were undertaken with Vans Snowboard boots. A lace lock system was developed as an economical solution that effectively divided the boot into two separate tightening zones. The zonal tightening (cable-lace) system provided a better, more comfortable fit, translating into better performance, while the internal harness design provided added control and comfort. Finally, a sole unit was developed to provide better boot traction under various conditions.

Project management responsibilities at Vans encompassed cost analysis, budgeting, time line development, and vendor management. Rider feedback tests were conducted to collect unbiased feedback for product evaluation and to establish new design goals. Far East production and development was managed to ensure proper build and quality for their entire boot line
